BREYERFEST 2001!

What a blast! This years Breyerfest was our second to attend and much better than last years in our opinion.

Here are some of the pictures we took this year. Other photos are located throughout the pages of my collection

Here is the Main Arena building at the Kentucky horse park. Inside is where almost all of the horse demonstrations and celebrity horse appearances take place. It is also the site of the vendor area.

Hundreds of horse related vendors from all over the country set out their wares.

Don't come to Breyerfest short on cash!

While at Breyerfest you can walk around the Kentucky Horse Park and view some of the celebrity horses such as Cigar and John Henry.

And don't miss out on the daily ritual of putting the drafts out to pasture. These guys work hard every day at the Horse Park pulling the tour carts around for a horse drawn look at the park. When their day is done they are un-harnessed and introduced to everyone.  A little is said about their breed and then they are wished goodnight and taken out to pasture.

And what would Breyerfest be without a walk down the halls of the Holiday Inn North, the unofficial after Breyerfest meeting place? Reservations are made nearly a year in advance due to the popularity of this multi-halled maze. It is customary to open your room to everyone.

Most people have turned their rooms into makeshift storefronts, displaying all manner of model horse related "stuff".

Great deals abound! Often fliers are plastered all around the hotel advertising a sale in one room or another.  Here is a junction of two hallways for example.

Plastic pony people from all around pound the carpet until the wee hours bouncing from room to room to see what they can find. You just never know what will turn up.

See you there again in 2002!
